Pros:

A masterclass in genre bending, fusing funk, soul, gospel, R&B and more into a wild ride of an album

Some wonderful grooves and melodies throughout, especially given the prominent bass parts and impassioned lead vocals

Use of timbre is magnificent, pulling from retro synths, ambient woodwinds, funky guitars and so much more

Cons:

Somewhat structurally questionable, sometimes switching moods and genres completely mid-track with little connective tissue to keep the listener invested

Drives some of its simpler melodic ideas into the ground with overrepetition

One or two tracks are simply too overburneded with effects and sounds to breath comfortably

Best: Terrified

Worst: California

8/10 Beautiful and bizarre
