Pros:

Melodies, expressed in both voice and guitar, are intrictaely written, carrying great emotional weight and often subverting expectations

Performances, especially the wonderfully emotive and diverse vocals, are perfectly suited and richly textured

Timbres are a consistent treat throughout, bringing in haunting strings, hollow chimes and even some digital synths for a unique and intrepid soundscape

Cons:

Tracklist is a little homogenised, with similar structures throughout and few truly standout moments

Mix often undercuts the heft and depth of the guitars, robbing many key passages of their satisfaction as a metal album
