Pros:

Songwriting is wonderfully progressive and atmospheric, excelling in both its crushing and technical metal passages as well as its beautiful ambient portions

Sound choices are intrepid and well-integrated, bringing in soulful horns, haunting strings and impactful choirs to bolster a vast wall of sound

Lyrical themes of the human psyche as an ocean is interesting and well-explored

Cons:

Lead vocals, especially the harsher growls, are a noticeably weak part of the sound portrait

Lacks diversity at times, lounging in its gigantic metal sound for a little too long

Best: Driftwood

Worst: Nine Days

8/10 Striking
