Pros:
When set free, death metal elements are brutal and superb, utilising blindingly fast tempos and intriguing scales to create some truly timeless riffs
Lead vocals and guitar tone are both visceral and disturbing, only adding to the experience
Performances and writing are both clearly personal and emotional
Cons:
Exemplifies the worst tendencies of prog, prioritising pointless technical showcases over distinct and memorable songwriting
Song structures are outrageous, repeating themselves far too often and throwing in far too many abrupt transitions and needless interludes
Best: To Forgive is to Suffer
Worst: Bite the Pain
5/10 Good Death, bad prog
