Pros:

Beats and incredibly timeless and fresh while retraining a retro feel, manipulating samples in creative ways and packing in a host of memorable and prominent bass lines

Rapping is both technically superb and emotionally resonant, feeling very raw (with some tracks being recorded in a single take!)

Thematic content is well-delivered, balancing optimism and nihilism well against a backdrop of gang violence

Cons:

Hooks tend to be rather flat and unmemorable, crying out for more melodic content

Similar drum loops and instrumentation between tracks can harm the record's diversity
