Pros:
Takes a minor upswing in its second half, with more aggressive performances and bigger arrangements
Folk elements present themselves in some well-implemented acoustic passages and instrumental flourishes, balancing well against the metal soundscape
Production is generally satisfying, especially in the delightful clean vocal layering
Cons:
Plodding and monotonous in the first half especially, with run-of-the-mill harsh vocals and forgettable lead lines leaving very little impression
Metal riffs are often needlessly laborious and underwritten, giving little for the listener to grab onto and relying on an absent atmospheric quality
Often presents promising ideas before failing to capitalise, creating a uniquely disappointing experience
Best: Still Yearning
Worst: Cease the Day
5/10 The rare prog metal misstep
