Pros:
Sound choices are consistently unreal, mixing grounded acoustic guitars and bass against organic strings and chimes, and also against more artificial synths and effects, creating an almost symphonic cacophony
Production balances the range and quantity of sounds well, using panning and reverbs to bring out the best of the record's shoegaze elements
Dream pop songwriting at the core of each track is intriguing and emotionally resonant, using unusual chord progressions and resonant lyrical imagery to spark the imagination
Cons:
Formlessness of many tracks leaves the record feeling somewhat unmemorable and substanceless, even after multiple listens
Mixing feels a little unbalanced at times, especially in the second half of the record
Best: Transitional Bird (Clever Girl)
Worst: Illusion (Fern Lake)
8/10 Suits the album cover perfectly
