Pros:

Instrumentation is a consistent joy, supplementing the groovy bass and clavinet jams with all manner of synths, pianos, guitars, choirs and brass hits, giving the record a tonne of variety

Mix of soul, funk and gospel is inspired and instantly recognisable, creating a wonderfully comforting and warm atmosphere that persists throughout

Lead and backing vocals are simply marvellous, taking influences from gospel and a capella and using them to drive each track forward and deliver some touching lyrical content

Cons:

Somewhat inconsistent, featuring some less inspired and unmemorable tracks

One or two jam-based cuts are needlessly long, dwindling by the end and hurting the record's pacing

Best: Blame It On The Sun

Worst: Maybe Your Baby

8/10 Wonder-ful
