Pros:
Performances are generally quite standout and strong, especially in the unusually harmonious and beautiful vocals as well as the tasteful and solid lead guitar performances
Melodic hooks and choruses are a consistent treat, showcasing a more melodic side to metal and being guaranteed to get stuck in the average listener's head
Symphonic elements, including choral and orchestral flourishes, only add to the album's gravitas and sense of scale
Cons:
Mix is often muddy and dull, suffering from an underdeveloped low end that sucks the life from many heavier passages
Many additional sounds, especially the frequent guest performances, are superfluous at best and often bring down their respective tracks
Best: Silver Moonlight
Worst: Edge of the World
6/10 More pop than metal, in all honesty
