Pros:
Riffs and hooks are both absolutely stellar, harkening back to a diverse range of moments from the band's discography and rejuvenating them with evil-sounding scales and soaring melodies
Performances across the board are characterful, technically brilliant and chock-full of aggression, especially in the legendary vocals and the thunderous percussion throughout
Modern additions to the sound, including a wicked guitar tone, several effects and some impressive time signatures, are well-integrated and enjoyable
Cons:
A little inconsistent, hosting some less memorable cuts with some outdated lyrical content
Production is arguably a little too polished at times, potentially reducing the album's impact
Can cut a little too close to the band's previous output for comfort at times
Best: As God is my Witness
Worst: Crown of Horns
7/10 A victory lap, well-earned
